We completed repairs on siding to the front facade of this beautiful home. The old siding is made of compressed fiber board with a mineral board underlayment. Both the siding and underlayment were rotted along the brick ledge. The old siding was removed in the area between the windows. The rotted area of the underlayment was cut away and new Hardie board replaced that section of underlayment. 1/4" rigid insulation and weather block was then installed to enhance protection against weather infiltration. Hardie board (stucco finish) was installed over weather block insulation. All seams were sealed. The rest of the siding will be replace in the near future. At that time the new facade will be primed, painted and sealed.
